Because SES is a Hilton rewards member, we always stay in Hilton properties. This is his favorite hotel in the Boston area so of course when we went to Boston this is where we stayed. I really liked the hotel because there were separate sleeping areas for us and Patrick. Patrick liked it because we were on the eight floor and it had glass elevators. This hotel has a terrific buffet style breakfast. It includes fruits, pastries, breakfast meats and eggs cooked to order.

I was fortunate enough to date someone who worked for this fantastic hotel. Robert worked his way through college working as a bell boy here. On weekends I used to stop by during his shift and bring him lunch or supper. As a result the dozens of people who worked here were able to watch our relationship grow from a casual romance to total infatuation. Robert proposed to me here on Easter Sunday of 1996. We had taken a trip back to Bean Town to visit old friends. Little did I know that he had already arranged for a night of surprises. When I woke up in the morning I was greated with a simple white Gardenia with a note and a clue to help me find my Easter basket. Half a dozen staff members later and about 10 clues, I found my easter basket waiting for me in the lobby along with Robert in a nice suit with a dozen of my favorite roses (fire and ice roses), and a quartet of his former co-workers singing More Than Words. He handed me my Easter basket and tied to the handle on a purple ribbon was a gorgous diamond ring. He got down on one knee and asked me to be his bride. I said yes of course.

Now I suppose you want to hear about the hotel. It's absolutely fantastic. The linens are fresh and crisp and the bed heavenly. As you can see the staff is totally attentive and very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

I have to admit the only time I stayed here is when Alex was in town with the team. The only reason we stayed in the hotel was because I couldn't have over night guests in the dorm. Anyway, the rooms here are absolutely huge and the staff will do just about anything for a VIP, including delivering whatever food and beverage you want even if they have to run to Store 24 to get it. When we stayed her there was always fresh towels when we wanted them and they came to turn down the linens every night. They placed Godiva chocolates on the pillows after freshening the room too. Needless to say during the 90's this was the hotel of choice for the Phoenix Suns. The bar downstairs is fantastic too. Great atmosphere and fantastic bartenders. Ask for a Woo-Woo, they're yummy.

Unique Qualities: Huge rooms and accomodating staff.

Years ago when I lived in Boston, I had the opportunity to stay at the Back Bay Hilton on two occasions. Once the night of the Back Bay Ball and once when my folks came to town for my college graduation. This is an excellant hotel with A+ service. It is a tad bit on the pricey side with the average room at just under $300, but you can find really good deals on Priceline. I also attended my Senior College Ball at one of the convention rooms located in the hotel. The food was excellant and the drinks from the bar great. They provided the graduates with a night we wouldn't remember. This is where I met my good friend Jason for the second time.

As for the rooms, from what I remember everything was perfect from the linens to the extra soft towels to the full line of beauty items provided by the hotel. Too bad I wasn't a Hilton Honors member then.
