EVERY ENDING BRINGS A NEW BEGINNING | YET ANOTHER ADORABLE CHILD |
I AM ON A MISSION TO MAKE THIS SUMMER THE BEST SUMMER FOR THE CHILDREN AT THE HOMLESS SHELTER I WORK AT. AS A RESULT I HAVE SEVERAL IDEAS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. ONE OF THEM INVOLVES VIRTUAL TOURIST AND ALL OF ITS WONDERFUL MEMBERS. HERE'S WHAT I AM DOING. I WOULD LIKE AS MANY MEMBERS AS POSSIBLE TO SEND A POSTCARD OR A LETTER OR NOTE OF SORTS FOR THE CHILDREN. I AM GOING TO GET A WORLD MAP AND PUT IT UP IN THE ACTIVITIES ROOM AND AS WE GET THINGS USE PINS TO MARK WHERE THEY COME FROM. I AM HOPING TO GET SOMETHING FROM EVERY CONTINENT BEFORE SUMMERS END. |  | A LOVE STORY IN THE MAKING
A couple of months ago, Rich told me a very touching story about his grandparents and how after Thanksgiving dinner his grandmother began to scratch his grandfathers back. Rich told me how his grandfather closed his eyes and a smile of pure happiness and love, not to mention peace and comfort came over his face. I remember when he told me this story how he talked about that at that moment he regained the clarity he once had and how he knew then that he wanted to find that feeling with another person. Well yesterday morning, neither Rich nor I wanted to drag our asses out of bed, but after snoozing the alarm 3 or 4 times I finally got up and took my shower. When I went upstairs to wake Rich up, I found him lying oh so peacefully snuggled under the covers. Instead of waking him up, I climbed back into bed with him and curled up next to him. As I gave him gentle kisses on the back of his neck I scratched his back. He lay there for a few moments then simply said that feels wonderful. We didn't want to get up, but since we both had to work we forced ourselves. We said our morning good byes and as he walked out the door he said, "you're not cooking tonight, I thought of something special and I'll take care of dinner". We both went to work and when I signed onto my myspace account, I was greeted by the usual, you have new comments pop up. I was brought to tears when I read the following:
"I told you about Thanksgiving this year that when I saw my 87 year old grandmother scratching my 94 year old grandfathers back and him closing his eyes and smiling because it just felt so good. I told you I knew then that it brought my life back into focus and knew thats what I wanted what they have. Someone to share the days with, someone to care for and someone to care for me. Well this morning I had that same feeling, but I this time I was not watching it, I felt it. Just wanted to tell you and tell everyone how great you are."
What can I say, I found a man who loves me as much as I love him and boy does it feel good.

I LIKE MANY PEOPLE HAVE DREAMS OF TRAVELING TO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES. JUST LAST NIGHT I WAS LYING IN BED WITH RICH TALKING ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF TAKING A VACATION. WELL IF I GET MY WAY, I WILL HAVE THAT MAN'S ASS ON AN AIRPLANE SOMETIME THIS SUMMER HEADING SOMEWHERE IN THE EASTERN EUROPEAN REGION. I WAS THIKING ROMANIA.

| WHAT ADULTS SHOULD LEARN FROM THEIR CHILDREN My beautiful little angel came home the other day with what his teacher calls the Kindergarten Creed. After reading the basics of what is expected from the behavior of our 5 and 6 year old children, I couldn't help but think, this should be a creed for adults too.
