Things To Do: Pink Flamingos and romantic hideaways

At Harrah's Flamingo Hotel you will find great gardens with pink flamingos (the penguins have now moved out to Dallas Zoo). When you've run out of cash and need to just get away from it, the gardens at the Flamingo Hotel have got their namesakes as well as Koi Carp and ducks of various varieties. For the romance in you, find yourself one of the little secluded nooks that seem to be just around the corner of each path. If you are a guest at the hotel, there are two large pools as well as a set of 4 smaller pools interlinked by slides for the kids.

THE STRIP: Take a walk and take it all in!!

With sunshine hours over 75% throughout the year, why not get out and see Las Vegas the good old fashioned way - step by step along the world famous Strip! The Strip is 4 miles (6.6 km) of Las Vegas Boulevard South. Whilst only part of The Strip is located within the city limits of Las Vegas, Nevada (the section north of Sahara Avenue), the section south of Sahara Avenue is actually in Clark County's unincorporated Township of Paradise, Nevada - aptly named as many visiting Las Vegas are looking to find paradise via a huge jackpot win from one of the casinos many slots which are located along the length of The Strip. Many of the largest hotel, casino and resort properties in the world are located on The Strip and it is these which people come to see during their visit. If you are staying at a hotel along The Strip, you can walk in one direction and return via the monorail.

Want to add something a little different to your gambling? At the Imperial Palace, you'll find the Dealertainers pit. These are croupiers who look like celebrities and include Cher, Little Ritchie, Cindy Lauper and Shania Twain, amongst others. They get up on a small stage and entertain every hour from around 1:00pm into the wee hours. Of course, you don't need to sit at the Blackjack tables immediately around the pit. You could play one of the nearby slots. If you're all gambled out, take advantage of this free entertainment. Some of them are actually quite good!

Looking to see Vegas from the good old days? Well, take a stop at the Champagne Pit at the Imperial Palace casino. Here, the croupiers are dressed as they would in the 1960s when the Rat Pack ruled the city. Another piece of free 'entertainment' offered by the Las Vegas casinos!
