Each year, Myfanwe organises a camping trip in North Wales. In 2010, I sorted myself out with a tent and some basic gear and a lift, courtesy of Suvanki and we headed off to Dolgellau for a weekend under canvas!

The ladies arrived early - and each put up their tents in the damp. Then our gent arrived, Davesut, after a long day's work - at which point, of course, the rain had stopped!

Getting the fire started after the day's dampness was a challenge but we eventually had enough to get dinner started.

Dolgellau

North Wales has lots of great locations and wonderful scenery - so there should be plenty of camping weekends to look forward to!!!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Great scenery and plenty of history
Cons:Can be damp!
In a nutshell:A great location for a weekend under canvas!

Be good see you again looking forward to it. Will now have to get into the loft and dust off the camping gear. Can't see this weather lasting till then.

Looks like you all had a great (if damp) time! The cottages in Dolgellau look so cosy, and it seems the town makes good use of its old buildings, turning them into eating establishments :-)

Sounds like you all had a great time in Dolgellau! I was there in 2004 but need to return someday as it's a beautiful part of North Wales. Happy travels!x

Despite many visits to Dolgellau I never knew about its history. The town trail looks really good. This year I'm going to Derbyshire -too many happy memories. Best wishes, Mike
