Dapitan City is located in the northwestern part of Mindanao, within the province of Zamboanga del Norte. It is the home of Jose Rizal, an involuntary resident of the city, from July 17, 1892 to July 31, 1896.

Rizal's clinic

This is a replica of Rizal's octagonal clinic. It now stands as a reminder of the numerous medications performed by Rizal during his exile in Dapitan.

Dawn in Dakak

Dakak Beach Resort is about 9 kilometers from the city proper. It has a naturally pure white sand. Facilities include cottages, swimming pools, conference hall, videoke bar, tennis court, bowling alleys, billiard, horseback riding and a chapel. It also offers island hopping activities.
