Winter in Paris

Paris is beutiful ! Even in winter in cold weather its great city. I knew Paris from the books of Victor Hugo and my visit of Paris was something like to come somewhere you have been already. True we choose posh accommodation in the Hilton just nest to the Eiffel tower - which was maybe mistake. Besides cold rooms I think when you go to Paris its better to stay in small hotel with history. But anyway, people in Paris are (or were to me) very nice and friendly ! Even the policeman in the police station when we came to report lost passport were cool and helpful.

If you wish to visit the Eiffel tower make a plan to visit Paris in the summer. It was very cold and count with waiting in the line at least half hour. Then up there its open and windy. We gave up in half of the tower.

I like very much the large streets in Paris - you do not feel crowded in the crowd! Paris reminding very much Prague (Czech republic) - it could be only my feeling but I felt it very strongly.

Market in Paris (Sunday)

Whenever you go to Paris do not forget to visit some of the Sunday markets there. We find one just by chance in Sunday when we walked without knowing where we going and it was very nice surprice! It was almost 1 Km long market with clean stands (with all the possible goods - meat, pastries, flowers, furniture, clothes, toys, fishes and more and more) and you can spend there hours without buying something. Its kind of art.
