One day is not enough....

by Margrette - last update: Jul 21, 2008

Lot to see, not much time.....

Prague
We have visited Prague only for one day.... but I can trully say that it is a lovely place with its own culture and history. The biggest advantage is that it wasn't destroyed throughout the WW and it is standing just like it was ages ago. "New" part of the city was build in XIV century.....well because it is "younger" than the rest of the city it is so called "NEW".

At the beginnig it was a complex of small villages that in time they expanded their borders to become one big city. Now the names of old villiges are the names of Prague's districts. And considering that everything stands like it used to hundreds years ago, each bigger district has its own old City Hall and main yard.

That is why there is so much to see and we couldn't possibly do it in one day. Our tour guide told us that if we would like to see all the interesting places without no break, no sleep, it would took us aroud 10 days.....well.....we had only around 14 hours......but still came back with some nice memories:)

What I liked about Prague is its little streets and special mood that it provides you with. A lot of cafes and little shops with marionetts in its windows. Colorfull glas and crystal objects (everything that is possible to be made) and oryginal architecture that makes you go back in time.
And apart of the noise you can find quiet streets and even small park in a centre of the city, placed between the passages that are very popular here.

It is one of a kind city that you must see with your own eyes, 'cause probably you cannot describe it with words:) And I am sure that people living here have a lot to tell.......
