The idea of visiting the møn island came in a matter of instant, as a good idea of spending a weekend. I moved to København recently and the Møn is just around 150 km away:) And so we went for a short trip to see it's famous Cliffs (Møns Klint)
It is a good idea for anyone, who visits Denmark (and usually it is to see it's capital) to go and explore this lovely place. There is a roud leading just through this small island that will get you right to the mansioned east cost cliffs, and there is lot to see on the way. |
| | On the way When the weather is sunny and you got good humor with you, you will surely enjoy the views on the way. Well.....it is just a country side, but leaving the concreet jungle and suddenly hearing the nature sound has its charm:)
You can not only get to the beach and jump in to the water but also get advantage of the "Danish Winds" and kiteboard a little. There is a place between Bogø island and Møn where you can look into the sky, and you see lots of colourfool kites. It is a narrow passage and you can see the sea water all around you. Lovely view.
Getting closer to the Møn Klint, we drove through the little Danish towns. There you can buy the potatos from the farmers or fresh honey. You just leave the money at pointed place and help yourself with the goods:)
On your way you can get little bit off your course to the Klint and see the Klintholm Havn. It is a lttle fishermans bay, where you can buy all kinds of fishes, that includes my favorite....smoked fish, which the fishermans prepare by themselves naturally:) There is also a little shop with antiques where maybe you can find some souvenir. |
| | Møns Klint When we finaly got there riding along a lonely narrow path through the green:) (Whatch out for the other tourits) we just parker our car at one of many parkingpalces in a center of the Clif's forest "Klinteskoven" nad took out our bikes. Ans I must say that it was great idea to cycle around the cliffs side, although it is a bit of a chalenge at some points. It was really worth it. the views where outstanding and the hit of fresh air......just what we needed.
Going along the Cliff, due south, we found ourselves sorounded by endless fields on one side, and 100m deep abyss on the other.....just riding through at some point even1 meter high grass. What a experience:)
There are few placese around the Cliff's side where you can simply walk downstairs to the beach. At one point we counted 480 wooden steps. The cliffs are all white cause of the calcium. On the stoney beach you can find the cliff's peaces all around and maybe sign your name on some wooden stepwith it?....eaven if it is just for a while:)
I recomend good stable shoes, for there are just stones all around the beach.
The highes point is 128m highand it is called Dronningestolen. At place where you have a path leading to it, there is a geocenter. The entrance costs 100DKK. We didn't go in, but you can learn more a their homeside: http://www.moensklint.dk/ |
