Nice pub, poor hotel and other Prestatyn, United Kingdom Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

I have been a regular in the Halcyon Quest's pub for many years, but have never stayed in their hotel. However my dad stayed there once and said the rooms were very basic.

Unique Qualities: No particularly great views or facilities but only a few minutes' walk to the town centre shops, pubs and restaurants. About 20 minutes walk or three minutes drive to the beach.

I have never stayed here, but I worked there during one summer holiday from uni. It's exactly what you'd expect from the Pontins brand - aimed at families with a low budget and lower expectations. It has everything you need - shops, bars, restaurants, swimming pool, activities for the kids etc, but no character. It suits the typical clientele it attracts, without wishing to sound borgeouis. If you come from inner city Manchester, Liverpool or Birmingham, it's probably lovey, and it's also a good place to take the kids, because they will be entertained day and night and can be looked after while you do your own thing, but otherwise has little to recommend it.

Unique Qualities: Highly chlorinated swimming pool, night club and late-licence bar, range of restaurants and take-aways, supermarket, bike hire, kids' sports and activities, very close to the beach and gold course, 20 minutes' walk to town.
