Spokane's a great place to visit. Especially in the summer time. The weather is great! The sun shines almost everyday from May to October. Of course, this is also the dry period for the city and there are some very hot days but they are not the rule. Riverfront Park is the gem of the city with a small amusment park and various band, food festivals and pow wows being held there. There are also plenty of lakes within 50 miles to enjoy water sports on. If you like to camp, the National Forest is also within an easy drive.

For those not into the outdoors, shopping is always plentiful here. Riverpark Square, Northtown Mall and the Spokane Valley Mall all offer a variety of shopping experiences.

But my favorite thing to do in Spokane is to ride the gondala over the falls in the late spring when the run off in the river is high. It is amazing to see the force of the river and imagine what it was like for the Native Americans that used to gather there.

I know that a lot of folks complain about the homeless but in comparison to other American cities like Seattle, San Fran or Chicago, we really don't have a problem.
