Even though I had always loved the legend of king Arthur and the round table and had read books about him, I had never heard of Tintagel; at least, I don't think I had, until I received a postcard from my brother Paul, way back in the early 1980s. From then on, I had wanted to come and see Tintagel for myself. I missed out on our trip to Cornwall back in 1994, as we had gone to many other places here, so I made a point of coming to see it this time around.

Tintagel is really for the tourists
