If you read over all the other tips in this section, remember they are there for a good reason. Rome is like any other big city that is popular with tourists - it is also popular with beggars, con artists and thieves. It is not a dangerous place and the warnings should not put you off visiting. Just be aware of yourself and your belongings at all times and you will be fine.
