We love visiting Rome. There is so much to see and even when we have seen it, we want to see it again. The architecture is incredible and it is an amazing city with thousands of years of history everywhere you look. The Romans are very friendly and helpful people and seem to enjoy all the visitors to their city. And then there's the food...
My sister-in-law gave us a lend of a travel guide called 'Top 10 Rome' - one of the Eyewitness guides - and I would highly recommend it. One of the main features of the guide that we found very useful is that it has very good maps and tells you exactly where each site is on the map. It also lists the best features of each district of Rome and not just the main sites overall.
I have a thing about angels; I don't collect them, I just like to look at them. Rome seems to have angels everywhere and this is one reason why I love the city so much. You can find some of these angels on my Roman Angels travelogue. Two of my favourite Roman angels are Sara and Roberto.
For more information on Rome, I can recommend a visit to janchan's (Gianluca) Rome pages.
E molto grazie, Gianluca, (e anche Roberto e Sara) per il vostro aiuto!
The above photo is St Peter's from the River Tiber (known locally as Il Tevere).
- Pros:Beautiful architecture - thousands of years of history.
- Cons:Too much to see - you need lots of time to enjoy it all!
- In a nutshell:A fabulous city - one of my favourites!

Good page! Very good information on hotels and restaurants! Your 1st picture of Rome is so beautiful.
Great advices and suggestions and many amazing pics as well. I skipped the Basilica of Santa Sabina there :-(.
Brava, good pages! Hotels in Rome is a real problem: expansive and very low quality. Paolo Conte? Well, it's a universe..... ;-) It takes years and years.....
Grazie mille Jane !! Ma la tua pagina e' spettacolare ! :))
A complete page. And many great pics..:-)
Nice page , nice tips and nice phtographs..many many happy returns of the day..Wishing you a happy birthday..Hope you will have a nice party tonight..
I never found the boca de verita (is that right?) though I wanted to after seeing "Roman Holiday" with Audrey Hepburn. But there's only so much Rome you can see in 1 1/2 days.
Good informative page - nice pictures !!
Very nice tips indeed, you've been lucky to be there...Thanks!
Like that opening shot and some of the other different angles with some different info.
