I was afraid that Venice would be just one huge tourist trap, but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there were tousands of tourists but it was still a beautiful city to wander around in. At every corner there was a different view - a lovely little canal, a little stone bridge or fantastic architecture. If you want to do the tourist thing, you will pay a fortune for a cup of coffee in Piazza San Marco or another fortune to ride in a gondola. Well, it's only money, why not?! I wasn't interested in posing with a coffee but I must admit that I really enjoyed the gondola ride. You can see different areas of the city that are only accessible by boat. If you want to do this more cheaply, you can hire a taxi.
- Pros:Easy to walk around in
- Cons:Can be busy and also floods occasionally
- In a nutshell:Fascinating city!
