We went to Verona on a day trip from Riva del Garda. It is easily accessable by bus from there. We mostly wandered around the town and just looked at the architecture. The 2 main attractions there are the Roman arena and Juliet's house. The arena is used in September as a venu for operas and when we were there, there was a stage set for Aida.

Juliet's house is a bit of a tourist trap. First of all, nobody really knows for sure if she even lived there. Not only that, but the house is completely empty and has not really been restored. I got the impression that people only go there for the balcony so it was the only part that the really mattered. The place is teeming with tourists, many of which have scratched their names on the walls inside and out. Very sad, really.

The rest of the city has nice little shops and cafes. There are other Roman features and one could probably spend a day or two there.
