Looking Out
at the ocean from the pier.
To get here, drive north on highway 101 from Santa Barbara. There will be a sign for the turn off just after the 101 leaves the coast and turns inland. The drive to the parking lot is short. It is a short walk under the elevated train tracks to the pier. This is a State Park and it does cost to park. Currently $10, free with a State Park annual parking pass ($125).
Pros and Cons
- Pros:Picturesque, serene, piercing beauty
- Cons:wind -though it adds to the mood of the place
- In a nutshell:Worth a stop off the 101 north of Santa Barbara
