Wenvoe

Wenvoe is a village in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales, about 6 miles from Cardiff.

Although many of the residents travel to work in Cardiff, Barry or Bridgend, the place retains the feel and nature of a semi-rural village with it's own pub, shop, school and village church. It is not at all unusual to see horses and tractors travelling down the main street - or even stopped outside the local pub.

Wenvoe grew up around a local manor house which burned down in the 1930's - although some of the estate buildings (e.g: the Wheelwright's Shop and the Estate Office) still exist.

There are quarry sites (limestone) nearby and evidence of quarrying back in Roman times has been found.

Community

As with many rural villages, the church is a focal point of the community

Amenities

Grange Park is situated centrally (opposite the school - and close to the pub!)
