A seven years timespan between the first and the last visit ... and I was one of those "never back in the same place !"
You all fall into the same trap, I'm sure :-)
Few facts about the Maldives:
- Maldives are more or less 1200 islands (someone claims for 13000, some others for 130 !!!!!) - no one is higher than 4 meters above the sea level - the water covers 99 % of the whole Maldives extensions - the religion is the Muslim one ... - ... and therefore nudism is strictly prohibited and offending ! - capital is Male' which is the only island u can see cars on (exluding the airport one) - CocaCola is obviouisly present here as well ... - ... but this is the only place where they locally produce it with local salt-free water !
And now some "bad" news ... if your travel guide claims about "wild paradise" please do not believe it !!!! The resort islands are completely re-built even if they did it really in a great and respectful way.
Enjoy these tips ... they are most pictures driven. |

Meeru 2004 The biggest island among the "resorted" (ie: with a resort on it) ones. In a nutshell: nok for snorkelling, ok for diving, ok for animated atmosphere, ok for food, ok for accomodations. For more infos just follow me in the next pages !!!!!!! All the tips related to Meeru have the word "Meeru" in the title ... smart, isn't it ???? :-) | | |

| Pros: | "Superb nature" | | Cons: | "Some too crowded resorts, travelling by boat can become boring" | | In A Nutshell: | "It is a place you never forget, it is not only for the sea, it's the whole holiday concept which is quite unique !" |
