New note on 19 August 2002
Few days ago Dresden (and a large part of eastern Germany) has been hit by an impressive flood by Elbe river; thousand of people left homes, main station was a swimming pool and many art treasures was really damaged (Semper Oper, just to tell u one of them).

The following was the original intro of these pages.
-----

Something you never expect as an italian guy is to find out Germany as a green country ... and driving from FFurt to Dresden (more or less 5 hours including bratwurst stops :-) I realized that maybe Germany is not as "grey" as the italian common non-sense thinks ...

The target of the trip was Dresden, one of the many former East Germany cities revamping since the WALL fallen down years ago.

Of course contrast between easter & western culture are still present but, of course again, not as strong as in Berlin ...

So, enjoy these pages about Dresden and visit it if you can, it deserves that ...
"Stormy waves" fountain in Albertplatz

If you're hit by the sun while strolling ...

... do not forget u can refresh your soul & your body !!!!

Pros:"Historical !!!"
Cons:"Downtown historical buildings looks dirty but it's just the kind of used material"
In A Nutshell:"The essence of eastern Germany ... cannot be missed !!!"
