    • The Praça do 25 de Abril (April 25th Square), popular known as The Rossio, right in front of the Monastery, has recently being subject of some major reconstruction. Not everyone is happy on how the constructions have being going on nor also on the changes that have been made already.

    Well, in my opinion there's at least one good news: nowadays the area for walking people is larger and visitors can now better enjoy and relax at the alfresco seats made available by the local bars and coffee shops.

    • In the 12th Century, while working on the stones for the Monastery, the workers used personal signs to engrave their signatures on the stones. The signs are still visible nowadays.

    • Heaven and Hell are featured with great detail in the engraved stone of Inês tomb.

    Looking for the tomb in detail one can read that some souls go to Heaven but the condemned souls get Hell as their destiny for eternal punishment.

     Maybe the Praça lost a bit of its old century feel with the renovations vs restorations, too bad. But I really enjoy these alfresco spaces too! Hope to go there one day :)
