The country is going through big changes. With the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Turkey and Armenia come opportunity for Georgia. The fact that both Azerbaijan and Armenia are a land locked countries (The Caspian Sea won't help with international trade) will give Georgia and edge because of its ports on the Black Sea. It is starting already with The Azeri gas and oil pipeline passing through Georgia. The flow of Tourists and visitors wanting to travel between Azerbaijan and Armenia will have to go through Georgia. The Georgian Government is hoping that the world will notice the importance of the country to the region and trying to attract more and more investments. It has recently eased visa requirement. People from 30+ nationalities do not need a visit visa.
If you are into Mountain climbing, hiking, forests, nature and beaches than Georgia should be on your list. There are plenty of Monasteries and old churches to keep you interested. The people are friendly and warm, the country is very affordable, and the food is unique and great
.
