Chapala, Jaslisco is a beautiful lakeside village south of Guadalajara about 20 minutes. My husband has relatives there and we own several homes their. This type of community would be IDEAL for retirement or relaxing vacations. There are lots of English speaking citizens and doctors. We run into people from Canada and the US all the time here....even driving around! |
|  | Chapala Lakeside Spring During the late winter and early spring months you will see the beach of the lake (no it's not for swimming) COVERED with these wandering water plants. They drift along the shore...but no worries. There are still lots of amigos to take you out on the lake for a beautiful sunset cruise. The lake provides the water for nearby Guatalajara and has for years been near extinction. However recently the lake began to refill, much to the releif of the locals. |
