I have been to Berchtesgaden many times - most times to cover bobsleigh events for my former newspaper. I stayed in Berchtesgaden most times but spent most the time in neighbouring Königssee where you find the ice-canal at the shores of the beautiful lake of the same name. I have been on a boat cruise, been on Jenner mountain, and on some more of the surrounding mountains.
As I did not photograph a lot in the early days of my travelling to his region - and you just did not take a big film camera on business trips - I do not have a lot of photos of Berchtesgaden and Königssee. So I dedicate this page to infos about our recent trip to Kehlsteinhaus, or, as it is called in English: Eagle's Nest. As Berchtesgaden is the starting point of this trip I think people find it more easily here than under Obersalzberg which is half-way up the mountain named Kehlstein - that is where the German name comes from.
