Say hi to the guy in the pointy hat for me...

Let me begin by saying I am not Catholic. (Hence my semi-irreverent comment about the Pope and the pointy hat) But you don't have to be to enjoy the beauty and opulence of Vatican City. If you are ever in Rome, you have to stop by.

The two windows all the way to the right are the Pope's private quarters. I tried to get him to invite me up for a drink, but he wasn't having any.

For a little soveriegn state...

It is actually quite large. The colonnade is enourmous, encircling the entire courtyard. The pillars are massive, I got dizzy taking this picture.
