me and my friends, all moscow's citizens

i know, being VT member for few months and not to write a single word about my hometown...there is just NO EXCUSE! And not that i didnt have
anything to share...was thinking myself a lot about it..WHY? i think finally i found some answers...

my love for Moscow is not kind of easy, blind and straight (but can love be easy??),to be honest i dont think my city is the best, most beautiful in the world, and i cant just close my eyes and fake that i dont see it's multiple unpleasant faces and even ungliness sometimes, which includes... dirty streets late autumn, long cold winters, no sun for several months,
sad and angry people faces early in the morning in public transportation, freshly but tastelessly painted building's facades, all kind of people..young, old, men&women drinking beer in the streets or near metro stations entrances in evenings winter time, crazy russian drivers having no respect for any human and not human being, old people asking for a change to buy some bread, casino's lightening being so intense you could get blind, hungry homeless dogs in the streets, healthy and strong men that dont want to find any job and prefer to stand in front of churches waiting for some money from you, lookalike buildings with identical standart apartments on the outskirts, if it's a new part of the city you will have to wait at least 5 years for some trees to grow up...
i wasnt born in Moscow, i was born in Budapest, my father was working in different countries..Hungary, Belgium, Switzerland, France for many years (of course all the family was always following him!),i remember changing many schools, many friends, many appartments...once i calculated..i was living abroad practically half of my life..
i know i will always compare my city to other big and beautiful cities and unfortunately Moscow doesnt always win in such comparisons, but no matter what..this city is half of my life, my family, my best friends living there, so many memories in it...and i could never forget feeling such strong nostalgia every time when i was back with my family into our small Moscow apartment after living abroad another year..
Moscow will always be in my heart and i will try to share things that i know about my city

in the center near my workplace

Wow! Very nice to read. Your English is very good considering where you were born and now live. I want to read more of your travel pages now!

I hope things get better for Spartak Moskva soon! :-) Just checked the league table - 5th in the league with half a season to play - I'm sure you can still be champions! :-) I attended Russia v Greece in Portugal at Euro 2004 - you won 2-1 that day! :-)

I LOVE the metro. And when using a taxi I always have my Russian friend "do the talking" while I nod and say such things as,,"Da" .."tochno" and the occaisional "ochen harashow" LOL..In this manner I see all the sights in St Petersburg as well...

It sounds like yur father was with the foreign ministry. My best friend, Dmitry, is as well, and is raising his daughter in much the same fashion as you were, If I guess correctly. I went to Moscow for his wedding.

Hahaha...how come my friend in Sakhalin not complaining? Maybe because they don't have Metro there! :-) You, too, have a great weekend.

Ahaha!! You're honest! I like that! I sure don't wanna be in Moscow or Europe in winter either! (The horrors of walking in the snow). Oh wow! The drivers here drive like crazy too? Oh wow..this looks challenging!
