travel in order not to arrive

by angelochka - last update: Jan 23, 2009

Nerja, Costa Del Sol
supporting Russia at Euro2008 in Spain, special "big thank you" to Rafa and Jomi, i'm sure your warmest support brought good luck to my team in this wonderful evening!
this "mexican style" picture is from our last trip to Spain. hopefully when all other restaurants were already closed after watching football game Russia-Sweden...it was the only one still open! it goes without saying that i'm wearing Russia shirt here even if it's not in the picture. was a very nice evening indeed...

FINALLY...

Petit, Raul Meireles and Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal applaude the fans after winning EURO2008 match between Portugal and Turkey...hmm and i thought they were practicing some yoga asanas...or at least performing kind of tribal dance...:)
I also can bet that C.Ronaldo took off his shirt cause he thinks that he needs much more experience if he want to continue to wear proudly number 7 Figo shirt. Yes you have to work harder Cristiano to deserve it!!
ok, i know life is not about shirts and soccer (though i can already hear many people arguing!:)..that's why i could also fit in my luggage couple of cd's of "fado", 3 bottles of Port Wine (vintage and tawny), 3 bottles of vino verde and 2 bottles of red wine coming from Dao and Douro regions!
what else?...hopefully i brought my son at home safe and in good health..but i still remember having my heart pumping very hard when i was watching him taking water slides:)
our itinerary in Portugal: Faro-Lagoa-Lisbon-Sintra-Sevilla (i realise it's in Spain)-Sagres-Capo de Sao Vicente-Lagos-Silves-Albufeira
and in whole..650 pictures:)
i think in whole we had only 5 hours in Lisbon so i had the feeling we were constantly running...probably when this pic was taken it was the only moment we stopped running for 5sec...
Egor and myself in Lisbon
Angelochka&Anechka at Cabo de São Vicente
This cape is the southwesternmost point in Europe and it's been known as sacred ground in Neolithic times, ancient people believed it's a magical place where the sunset was much larger than anywhere else and the sun sank here hissing into the ocean marking the edge of their world. Now we dont believe in this anymore but watching the sunset here was a really wonderful thing.. though bit windy:)
YES I DID IT!! It took me 35 min to get on the top of this part of the Wall..which is not too bad if i trust our guide's opinion...yes, i think for my selfesteem better to trust him:)
and here is the sad reality...after i returned home i bet the money on AC Milan winning in Champions League's game MU vs Milan. Everyone knows that Milan lost...and i was thinking..considering the average age of the team is 32..probably the guys would get easily tired if climbing the Great Wall..and an interesting idea crossed my mind-i have to write to Milan's coach before it's too late and suggest him to train the guys stamina on Badaling section of the Wall! i really hope my idea will be just in time and the coach will find it helpful...and next week Milan will show one of his best games and be in the Big Great FINAL! and i could get my money back..:) and maybe even get some more...anyway if that happens i promise to all chinese souvenirsellers from the Wall to come back one day and to buy a lot of these goldplated certificates, t-shirts and pashminas with dragon ornaments.

P.S. yes they won and i got my money back but after i bet even more on America Cup, lost money again...so at the very end it became very boring and monotone to lose money...and I QUIT! i will have to be satisfied with my salary. hope chinese traders will forgive me:)
i couldnt believe my eyes..after all these years looks like i finally took a picture of the Red Square that i like...and i took even more that will probably put on vt very soon...yes, you will see EVEN MORE of GUM, St.Basil's Cathedral and State Historical Museum.. as if you needed that:))
