Kosova should come with a health warning. What started out as a one off 2 week visit has essentially taken over my life!
I went on a short term team to Kosova in July 2004, in that short space of time i've been back 4 times and have my 5th trip planned.
BE WARNED!!

My most eventful trip to Kosova was probably October 2005. Driving up the beautiful mountains of Rugova in a good sturdy 4 wheeler landrover. Attempting to cross into Montenegro (just for fun), the road becomes pretty bad, extremely muddy and narrow. To prove my helpfulness to my fellow travellers i leap out of the vehicle to check the road up ahead. all of a sudden my travel buddy is screaming at me to get back to the landrover. all i knew was it was serious by the sound of her voice. i turned and starrted pelting it down the mountainside. i almost stopped thinking maybe some wild mountain animal was after me so i should stop and stand completely still. but i ignored that fact and get pelting it down. my legs were flying, my arms pumping. get back to the truck, turn around and lumberjacks are rolling logs down the side of the mountain directly abocve where i was. almost wiped out by a flying log. picture will soon follow. only after did i realise that with no travel insurance i could really have been in bother!!

• Pros:Despite the press Kosova is a completely safe place to visit and travel around. The roads and drivers sometimes can be a bit hairy but as far as political stuff goes there is absolutely no problem.i've been loads and never had any problems like that.
