Panama City was the first place I visited on a Central America trip that including Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. I can't say that I was able to explore extensively through the city, but what I saw was enough to make me want to go back.

This city was easiliy the most cosmopolitan and modern city out of the major cities I visited in central america, but it also has plenty of historic architecture too. Many of the newer areas and hotels make the transition from the western world to the developing world a lot easier for a westener, but it is certainly the more local areas that are the most interesting.
