BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is building a very large station with huge parking garage, but we enjoy Caltrain.
In Millbrae you will need a car as the hills are very steep. Be careful when driving as people like to park their cars on the curb instead of their driveways and many roads become de facto one way. People will also regularly park their autos next to stop signs, adding to the difficulties at intersections. Stop signs are hidden. (SEE PHOTO)
