Local transportation in Mauritius
In Mauritius, you can take a taxi for a day at about Rs. 2200-2500 per day for taking you to all tourist places. Taxi for say 30 to 40 minute rides cost about Rs 7-800.
Buses are good and when we traveeled, were not crowded at all. We travelled in non peak hours and only 3 times so they may be crowded at other times. Bus fares are approx. Rs. 18 per adult for a 20 minute ride. Children above 6 pay half fare.
