From my experience Paris has a lot of street beggers but they are not like the normal beggers you might see they're a whole lot more sophisticated!!!! They approach you with a card written in a number of different languages all saying pretty much all the same - that they are all alone in Paris, have no money, and cannot speak a word of french. Don't be fooled they can, they usually operate in a group and can be very persist and invasive!!!! They tend to hang out around all the major tourist sites, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, etc!!! Avoid them!!!
