Cook Forest State Park Travel Guide: 8 reviews and 34 photos

Cook Forest State Park is over 7,000 acres of gorgeous, quiet nature in the heart of northwestern Pennsylvania. To the east of the park is the Clarion river, which is full of swimmers, canoes and boats in the summer months.

The park is located about 100 miles from Pittsburgh and open year-round. The summer hosts scores of people camping and hiking, while the cooler months are the domain of hunters from around the northeast.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:It's nature!
  • Cons:Mosquitos in the summer
  • In a nutshell:Throw on some bug repellent and enjoy :)

    Hey! I grew up around Cook Forest (or as we locals call it "Cook's Forest"). Next time you're in the area let me know and I'll give you a *real* tour of the park ;}
