Quaint, Though Expensive, Seaside Village

by Lhenne1 - last update: Mar 5, 2007

Carmel-By-The-Sea, or Carmel, is located just south of Monterey and Pacific Grove in Central California. It's an area known for its charm...and its wealth. Walk down the main street in town and you'll pass adorable little shops, eclectic bars and restaurants and a ton of art galleries.
The town isn't large and you can walk through the "downtown" areas on a pleasant afternoon.

Take some time to do some sightseeing. The homes remind me of Medieval fairy tales (though they are a bit cramped together).Walk down the hills (the entire town is built on a hill) and you'll come to a gorgeous beach.

From the beach you can see the Pebble Beach area (and one of its famous golf courses) and take in some great sun. In the early evening, the beach fills with people walking their dogs, jogging and simply enjoying the dreamlike sunsets.

Pros:"Cute town, great place for photos."
Cons:"Way too expensive to spend much time here."
In A Nutshell:"$20 burger? Oh yeah, we're in Carmel."

Nice tips. This does look like a cute town -- for those who can afford it.

How did you ever find all those good restaurants? You should visit the Mission Ranch... great place for a date! ;)
