More than a tower

by Lhenne1 - last update: Oct 13, 2006

While in Italy, we took a quick trip to Pisa. Unfortunately, our time there was limited to a few short hours and therefore, we spent most of that time by the Famous Cathedral, Baptistry and Tower.

Seeing the leaning tower, I was star-struck for a moment. It's incredible to think it can stand like that and still be fairly secure (though you will see supports along the bottom when you get up close).
Aside from the tower, be sure you take some time to see the Cathedral and the Baptistry (also both leaning). The artwork on these buildings is very intricate and beautifully crafted.

Near the three buildings, you'll find plenty of tourist stands and shops. Get there early, by noon the sqaure is packed with tourists.

I thought I was going to topple down those cockeyed stairs as I climbed...what a feeling! Everyone's trip seems to be the same. Do you suppose there are other things in that town?

Although Pisa is my least favorite in Italy, I do think that your page is excellent.
