I (Surprisingly) Heart Miami

Night Canal Cruise (we bused away from the city)
My company went down to Miami (We stayed in South Beach) for the annual offsite last year. Now I am not a beach/club person so I totally expected not to like it. I was wrong. It actually has this neon charm to it, an interesting city layout, and the beach at night is so relaxing and beautiful. I took a great 30 block walk along the boardwalk, watching the black waves break to the right and the neon city to the left. It was pretty awesome. Then my coworkers talked me into going to Mansion with them, where all my Miami fears were realized -- expensive + dancing + crowded + girls dressed in what amounts to creative lingerie X meat market = not Mimi's cup of tea.

My conclusion is I think I'd really like Miami if I avoid what *other* people like about Miami.
Big Cypress

Everglades

My side trip to the everglades was awesome. I have a separate page for it.

In A Nutshell:"A really interesting, different, vibrant city if you explore it on your own terms"
