I visited Seoul briefly in April 2005 on the way back to Europe from Japan, and stayed with (Swedish!) friends in Yongsan. It's a huge city and rather exhausting to travel around in, although the subway system is very good (and the payment system, by preloaded plastic card that you place on a card reader on entry to and exit from the system), very modern. My main memories are of various shopping/business centre complexes and the 3 palaces I visited, but I also spent a lot of time just wandering, in particular in Insadong. As a consequence, I didn't always know where I was when taking certain photos, and in some cases, if I knew then, I have forgotten by now!

Great Seoul page! My daughter-in-law is from Seoul and I hope to go there next year to meet her family and to visit her country.
Salutations de Lausanne:-) Ellen
Interesting tips from your brief visit to Seoul in 2005. I have never been to Korea and it seems like a totally exotic place to me, though I know some Korean singers here in Frankfurt.
must be such a surprise for people coming from north korea
Seoul tourist on the palace visit!
I was really lucky - my day in Seoul was a national holiday so crowd control was so not a problem!have enjoyed a look through yr page as i enjoyed my own visit last year.
I am also a fan of the Seoul city tour buses and Gyeonbokgung.
I like the title of this page!
