Lake Taupo was created by the largest volcanic eruption of the past 5,000 years.
Approximate the same size as Singapore and is the largest fresh water lake in Australasia, it is situated in the central north island of New Zealand. Only 1 hours drive from Rotorua.
Due to its location in the centre of New Zealand`s North Island getting to Lake Taupo couldn`t be easier. The best way to get here and to travel around is to drive. It only tooks ard 3 hours and 30 minutes drive from Auckland. |
