Our Favourite Capital City

We just love going to Singapore. Its a fantastic holiday destination with so much to see and do and is definately our favourite Asian Capital City.
I love how Singapore is so clean, people are so friendly and its such a safe city.

We normally stay for approximately 7 days, but this never seems enough.

I do not understand why people say it is to expensive.
Get out of Orchard Road!!! (Though it is pricey if you are a drinker. But once again, go to little local restaurants etc, beers are very cheap then).

Yes there are name brand shops which obviously are dearer, but there is fantastic shopping to be had at local shopping centres, especially clothes and name brand runners.. See my shopping tips for more info!

We use the MRT most of the time, its so efficient and easy to get around.
Taxis are great as well, very cheap and some of our funniest conversations have been with taxi drivers.

I love Singapore too and always squeeze in a stopover if I can. Just wish Perth had the same cheap hawker food courts like Singapore. S

Hi Cathy, Thinking of spending time in Singapore next trip to Phuket. I was last there in 1993 (nice to reminisce over all your photos). Do you know if the Chinese markets have been done up since 1993, they look different, but I'm not sure. Lee
