In June 2002, my fianc? and I went on a last minute trip to Corfu, one of the largest Greek islands. We ended up at a hotel in Ermones, a very small and quiet resort, located on the west coast. However, we spent most of our vacation on a scooter, driving around and exploring the island on our own. Once you have left the busy tourist resorts behind, and followed the narrow serpentine roads up the mountains, you'll be able to find small and still genuine Greek villages. Up there it's also easy to understand why Corfu, by many people, is considered to be the most beautiful Greek island; stunning views of crystal clear turquoise water, beautiful white beaches and of course, the island's lush green hills.
The beauty of Corfu's nature is simply enchanting!!!
