Grenen is the northernmost tip of Denmark and this is where the two oceans Kattegat and Skagerrak meet. On a windy day, the sea can get very rough with high waves, and then swimming involves risking one's life. Anyhow, when I was there in the middle of July, the water was freezing cold, leaving no desire to get wet above one's ankles. I spent less than 30 seconds in the water, posing for the obligatory "where the oceans meet" picture (see my Skagen travelogue), and that was according to my taste too long!
This is one of the most visited sights in the Skagen area; more than a million people make their way out to Grenen every year. There's a cool type of transportation available at Grenen, please see my tip under transportation.
