UK...Beautiful lakes/loches, real wilderness, cosm

Hi all .. I had a wonderful time in U.K. and wanted to share my little adventure with u ... I'm a little slow in putting up the page, so I hope that u guys out there will bear with me!

My friend & I spent more than a month in Europe … the hectic schedules, lack of sleep, getting lost in alleys, going without food in search of our destinations, … did not take a toll on me … however, I fell under the spell of the flu bugs. My young friend, who was just recovering from the same virus, did not really know how to take care of me. Fortunately, my buddy, who just flew in to London to join us in the U.K. leg of our trip, was wonderful! (By the way, this page is dedicated to my buddy, Katalina.) She fed me medicine, soup and hot tea … within 2 days, I was up and raring to go. (However, don't be surprised to see me looking a little 'uncool' in some of the photos.)

United Kingdom (U.K.) … doesn't it sound impressive … consists of England, Scotland, Wales, … these 3 countries are also known as Great Britain … and Ireland (formerly only Northern Ireland was included). It has a great heritage as a stronghold of individualism, invention ... inventor, Alexander Graham Bell … 'rrrrring' a Bell, literature … the land of Beatrix Potter, Thomas Hardy, William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth, … the incredible history, patriotism, … Sir Winston Churchill, William Wallace …

We planned to attack U.K. with gusto but to our regrets, we only covered ..… 2 weeks was simply insufficient! I love the different aspects of U.K., the beautiful landscapes, both rural and urban ... are unique in their own ways, but my personal favourite … is Lake District! I got to know about this beautiful place when I was in New Zealand in 1994. I was exclaiming at the beauty of Lake Tekapo when a lady tourist from England overheard me and then told me about Lake District. Above ... is a photo of sunset in <b.Windermere in Lake District.

ENGLAND … Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Coventry, York (check out my York page), Chester, Lake District, Northumberland, …
SCOTLAND …Edinburgh (check out my Edinburgh page for details), Scottish Highlands, Inverness & Loch Ness, Fort William, Glencoe, Loch Lomond, Gretna Green, …
WALES … Cambrian Mountains, Caernarfon, Snowdonia, Pembroke, …
