Kaapstad (in Afrikaans)
I had an absolutely wonderful time in Africa's most fascinating city … Cape Town. It is cocooned into a shallow bay by the majestic bulk of Table Mountain. If I'm to compare this place to anywhere in the world, … I would think that it is most akin to San Francisco.
I went to South Africa (S.A.) with a sweet, demure, good friend of mine, by the name of Krystynn. I had no inkling that this sweet gal could play so many pranks … I was so shocked that my jaw dropped and the astonishment on my face simply gave her more mischievous ideas, … however, I recovered fast enough to join her in having fun. Our African guide and friend, Deon, drove us, (the two of us and some new-found friends) around, to check out some of the interesting places. Both he and our friend, Edmund's hearts actually almost stopped beating from the pranks Krystynn played. (Well … I have to confess that I not only took part in most of the pranks, I enjoyed every bit of them.) Anyway, she made the trip really memorable for me, so this page is dedicated to her.
We reached Cape Town, from our adventure along the Garden Route, when the sun was setting. We were pretty tired but the beautiful sunset simply refreshed our spirits.
There is so much to see and so much to do … we needed at least a week to explore all the attractions of Cape Town! It is the hub of a beautiful mountainous peninsula with beaches, villages, … one can find total solitude in anyone of the incredible gardens … check out the Company's Garden … or climb Table Mountain and go hand-gliding … for the adventurous ones, or shop like there is no tomorrow in Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and Green Market Square!
