It … Johannesburg, is also known as Jo'burg or Egoli (City of Gold) is a boomtown … the continent's answer to Manhattan. It is also the third largest city in Africa, lies on the highveld, S.A.'s central plateau, on the edge of Witwatersrand. With all the gold that can be found here, it is also a city of poverty … a violent city but it has an energetic spirit that transcends all the negativity.

We did not spend much time in Jo'burg, … after the warnings we got from all, and I meant all our friends … we decided to devote more time to the nearby areas like Pretoria and Sun City! They showed us articles, written by the locals of Jo'burg as well as some written by travellers, about the terrible experiences they had. At first, their warnings fell on deaf ears, went unheeded, … till my colleagues and my buddy, Peter who went there, shook me real hard and urged me to listen to their warnings.
