"City of Lights" a Paris Travel Page by E_R_I_C

The best thing about Paris is everything. As cliché as that sounds, I really do believe it. There's too much to say that one thing stood out. The markets, the scent of cologne and perfume in the air, the cafes and people milling about everywhere... A truly romantic place. I guess you could say that about a lot of cities in Europe. But as theFrench say, it just has a certain je ne sais quoi. Whatever it is, it has to be more than psychological.

Paris may not be everyone's favorite place. I'm not even sure that it's mine. It is certainly one of my favorites though. Some people may not care much for the city because they find the Parisians arrogant or not very friendly. I like to describe them as curt or very busy. I would imagine that after hundreds of years of tourism, especially over the last century, it has gotten a little tiresome for many of the people working and living there. Hotels and restaurants especially have been flooded with tourism – forced to suffer through everyone's poorly spoken French, if spoken at all. Ah, so why isn't that the case with other cities, like London... Hmmm... I guess you got me there. Oh well. I still love Paris. It's only what you make of it.
