Our visit to Scotland We visited different areas in Scotland. First Edinburgh, then the Highlands. We stayed near Fort William and hiked in Glencoe, and up Ben Nevis. Loved the landscape there and the Highland cows!! (photo is a scanned postcard) Scotland is a beautiful place to visit, and there are a lot of interesting things besides hiking to do and see. We went to the Highland Games in Sterling, and visited the Isle of Skye. We drove along Loch Ness to Inverness and all the way to the coast at Nairn. On the way we visited an old battlefield, Culloden. |
Loch Ness No...we did not see the monster! |
Ben Nevis Highest mountain in the U.K. , near Fort William. The hike was hard , but we felt great when we got to the top, with 2 kids ( 7 and 13 at the time). It took us all day, and it was very cold and foggy on top, in July! (see sports section for details) |
