Chinatown Chinatown Review

Chinatown is my personal favorite area to shop and eat in , in NYC. It's a little like being in China I would imagine. At least it is as close to China you can get without leaving the U.S.
I love all the little stores and all of the great Chinese restaurants.

Directions: Canal Street stop. From there, proceed by foot through Canal Street and explore the area.

Battery Park Battery Park Review

Battery Park is at the southern tip of Manhatten Island and has several monuments in it, including what is left of the World Trade Center, see photo. It is a sphere that was supposed to stand for world peace. Yeah right...
It almost made me cry to see it, since during the previous visit to NYC I was standing on top of one of those buildings. I think this is the reason I have not made a VT page until now, even though I have been to NYC several times. I am still debating if I should put an old photo on here or not....

Directions: Take the 4 or 5 to Bowling Green Station or the N/R to South Ferry Station

Statue of Liberty Statue of Liberty - Ellis Island Review

We did not actually go to the Statue of Liberty, but took the photo from the Staten Island Ferry. Did not have enough time for a visit on the last trip we made to NYC. But, you can't go to NYC without at least taking a photo of it!

Directions: South Ferry at Battery Park - Take the #5 train to Bowling Green or #1 to South Ferry

This is probably not a traditional tourist destination in NYC, but I wanted to see what City Hall looks like, so we went looking for it.
