To experience the dunes it is a must to take a camel trip and stay overnight in a Berber tent. The trip took some 2/3 hours each way and contrary to popular belief it is not as 'painful' as is commonly believed. Granted, you walk a little stiff and bowlegged for a few minutes when you dismount but this soon disappears.
Two main items, portrayed on the table, are a must in the desert - water and loo paper

have enjoyed a lot of time and visits in this area and nice to see your page here - the village with the Gnawa music association is Khamlia
This is one of my favourite parts of Morocco, wish we'd stayed overnight in the desert too, that sounds great.
Hello Karen. I absolutely LOVED your opening photo on your Merzouga page, the colours are gorgeous. Also very much enjoyed reading your tips. Greetings from "another desert" :-) Jess in Dubai
