A Jewel on and above the Mincio river The Mincio river runs from Lake Garda, at Peschiera Del Garda, south to Mantova. Shortly after Mantova the river empties into the Po River.
About 10 miles/ 18 KM south of Lake Garda on this river you'll find Valeggio and it's imposing Castle looming above the river, while the even more picturesque Borghetto is situated right on the River.

| | to get there A great way to reach the town is via Bicycle, as there is a wonderful well cared for bike path along the river from Lake Garda to Mantova. We rode from Peschiera to Valeggio/Borghetto - it is a great level ride along the river with cornfields, vineyards, and some fruit farms. |
The best Tortellini in all of Italy... That is what a few of our Italian friends told us. We had to try for ourselves... no complaints
Most of our time was spent in Borghetto, a very small but perfect little village situated above and on either side of the river. | | |
