Getting TO/AROUND: The cheapest and easiest mode of transportation in Windhoek is a taxi. At the date of this tip the fee is N$6.50 (might go up soon due to fuel hike). Taxis are everywhere and you recognise them by the yellow taxi sign on or in the taxi. They also MUST have address details printed on the side of the car. When you get off at a point that's not a taxi rank, the charge is double.
Also, taxi use is not exclusive, so the taxi driver wll pick up other passengers along the way who are travelling in the same direction as you. So, your ride might not be straightforward. You need to keep that in mind when you are going to important appointments.
Unfortunately we do not have week passes etc. It's just a pay as you go thing.
