My travels on a Narrowboat

by binnie - last update: Sep 9, 2002

Sorry if this is under the wrong Town, but it's the nearest i can get.
I work for Blakes Boats and as part of the training we had to go on the Norfolk Broads and a canal.
We went to Linslade near Leighton Buzzard along the Grand Union Canal.
There were only three of us and we were all female.
Sarah pictured with me has been before but over 20 years ago, so it really was a challenge.

A good friend of mine drowned by The Three Locks. We were canoeing in the oy Scouts as a barge was in the lock. He got caught in the sluice gate. It was very sad. Thanks for posting warnings about canal travel...it's fun but can be dangerous!
